Beef Lasagna
Layers of meat sauce, ricotta, and pasta.
Ingredients
- 12Lasagna noodles
- 1 lbGround beef
- 28 ozCrushed tomatoes
- 1Yellow onion, diced
- 4 clovesGarlic, minced
- 15 ozRicotta
- 2 cupsMozzarella, grated
- 1/2 cupParmesan, grated
- 1Egg
- 1 tbspItalian seasoning
- 2 tbspOlive oil
- Salt and pepper
Method

Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the beef and onion and cook, breaking the meat up with a spoon, until browned, 6–8 minutes. Stir in the garlic and Italian seasoning for 1 minute, then add the tomatoes and a good pinch of salt. Simmer gently, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring now and then.

Stir the ricotta with the egg, parmesan, and a pinch of salt.

Cook the lasagna noodles until just shy of al dente, then drain and lay flat.

In a baking dish, layer sauce, noodles, ricotta mix, and mozzarella, repeating and finishing with sauce and mozzarella.

Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake until bubbling and golden, 20 minutes more.

Let it rest 15 minutes before cutting so the layers set.
