Homemade double beef burger with special sauce
Ingredients
- 400 gground beef, divided into 4 thin patties
- 2 tbspolive oil, for cooking patties
- 2sesame seed burger buns, each cut into 3 horizontal layers (bottom, middle, top)
- onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 headiceberg lettuce, shredded
- 2 slicesamerican cheese
- 2dill pickles, large; sliced
- 1 cupmayonnaise, base for special sauce
- 2 tspwhite wine vinegar, for special sauce
- 2 tspmustard, yellow mustard, for special sauce
- 1 1/2 tsponion salt, for special sauce
- 1 1/2 tspgarlic powder, for special sauce
- 1/2 tsppaprika, for special sauce
- black pepper

Mix all the special sauce ingredients (mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard, onion salt, garlic powder, paprika, pepper) in a bowl. Season with salt, cover, and refrigerate until ready.

Carefully slice each bun into three horizontal layers (bottom, middle, top). Lightly toast all layers.

Season the ground beef with salt and pepper and form into 4 balls of about ⅓ cup each. Place each on a square of baking paper and flatten into thin 15 cm circles.

Heat oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Cook the patties in 2 batches for 1–2 minutes per side until lightly charred and cooked through. Keep warm.

Assemble: spread special sauce on the bottom layer, top with onion, shredded lettuce, cheese, a beef patty, and pickles. Add the middle bun layer, then more sauce, onion, lettuce, pickles, and the second patty. Finish with more sauce and the top bun.
