  • 8 cupwater, for boiling
  • 1/2 tbspsalt, for the boiling water
  • 2 cupall-purpose flour
  • 1 tspsalt, for the dough
  • 1/2 cupwater, for the dough

Method

  1. 1

Bring 8 cups of water and ½ tbsp salt to a boil in a large pot.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, combine the flour and 1 tsp salt. Gradually add ½ cup water, mixing with your hands until a dough forms.

Divide the dough into equal pieces. Roll each into a smooth ball, then flatten slightly into a thick disc.

  4. 4

Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water one at a time. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Boil for 15–20 minutes until they float and are cooked through.

  5. 5

Remove with a slotted spoon, drain, and serve.
